Collection: Prayer Flags

Features of Prayer Flags

Gandhanra Tibetan Prayer Flags are traditional Lungta (Wind Horse) flags printed with auspicious symbols, sacred mantras, invocations, and Buddhist scriptures on five-colored fabric representing the five elements. Our collection includes Om Mani Padme Hum flags, Green Tara Mantra flags, Akshobhya Buddha Mantra flags, Amitayus Infinite Life Sutra flags, King Gesar Epic flags, and Wind Horse Lungta Mani Prayer Papers. Each set spans 16.5–17.5 feet with 21 flags, designed for outdoor display in wind-exposed locations.

How to Use Prayer Flags

Hang Prayer Flags outdoors in a high, open location where the wind can freely move them — rooftops, mountain passes, garden fences, and balconies are traditional locations. String the flags from left to right when facing the display direction, as this is considered the auspicious direction for the prayers to travel. Replace Prayer Flags annually on an auspicious day such as Tibetan New Year (Losar) — as the old flags fade and deteriorate, their prayers are considered fully released into the world.

Why Choose Handmade Prayer Flags

Gandhanra Prayer Flags are printed using traditional Tibetan block printing methods with authentic mantra and scripture texts, ensuring the prayers carried by each flag are complete and correctly rendered. Our flags are made from durable fabric that withstands outdoor weather conditions while allowing the wind to carry the printed prayers effectively. With a range of mantra and scripture options — from the universal Om Mani Padme Hum to the rare King Gesar Epic — our collection offers Prayer Flags for every intention and practice tradition.
