Collection: Shakyamuni Buddha Thangka & Statue

Shakyamuni is the historical Buddha, Siddhartha Gautama, and the figure most shrines are built around. He wears the patched monk's robe and is shown in one of a few fixed gestures: earth-touching at the moment of enlightenment, teaching with hands at the heart, or resting in meditation with an alms bowl.

Where a Buddha statue is the first purchase, Shakyamuni is the standard choice — it is the figure the offerings, the measurements and the consecration formulas are written for.

Formats in this collection: Hand-painted thangka, giclee and woodblock prints, statues in copper, brass and painted clay, tsa-tsa molds, and digital image downloads for printing.
