Collezione: Ksitigarbha Thangka & Statue

Ksitigarbha, Earth-Store, is the bodhisattva who vowed not to reach enlightenment until the hell realms are empty. He is shown as a shaven-headed monk with a walking staff in the right hand and a wish-fulfilling jewel in the left, sometimes seated on a lotus with a halo of flames behind him.

His practice is done for the dead, for those in difficult circumstances and for protection in travel; in East Asia he is better known as Jizo, guardian of children and travellers.

Formats in this collection: Hand-painted thangka, printed thangka, cast statues and tsa-tsa molds.
