Collectie: Tsongkhapa Thangka & Statue

Je Tsongkhapa, Losang Drakpa, founded the Gelug tradition in the fourteenth century. He is shown with the tall yellow pandita hat, hands at the heart in the teaching gesture, two lotus stems rising to his shoulders carrying a sword and a book — the emblems of Manjushri, whose emanation he is held to be.

His image is standard in Gelug shrines and in study colleges, and the long-life practice of Tsongkhapa is recited before examinations and at the start of retreats.

Formats in this collection: Hand-painted thangka, printed thangka, cast statues and tsa-tsa molds.
